For quite a while now I have loved the Stampin Up range of stamps and punches and had a few in my collection that I used for scrapbooking. I loved the way they co-ordinated so well and a little embellishment was so easy and quick to make with the supplies. I have not been a really big card maker of late, just making cards for close friends and family. I much prefer scrapbooking and project life but did start out paper crafting by making cards many many years ago.
This year I have opened a toy shop where we live in Tywyn, a pretty seaside town on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. To add to the traditional wooden toys we stock I decided to make some children's cards to sell along side the toys. Naturally my first port of call was the supplies I already owned. I had a few stamps and papers and set about making some cards but they seemed to take forever as I was trying to match things up and spent more time planning what to do instead of doing the thing I love; crafting.
This led me to Stampin Up. I signed up for a Stampin Up stamp club and received a current catalogue with all the lovely products available. There, before my eyes was the answer. I could start up my own card making business for £99. I jumped at the chance at the end of June and placed my initial order. A few days later my parcel arrived all the way from Germany with the goodies I had chosen. A big brown box full of excitement waiting to be played with. Waiting for me to create.
Over the past 2 months I have placed a few more orders and even unexpectedly gained a customer! I had no intention on looking for customers to sell Stampin Up products to when I first started but I can see this as a way to expand my craft business as well as making my own cards to sell. I am also expanding the range of cards I stock to ones aimed at adults too as my toy customers have requested this.
Stampin Up products are so easy to use. The hard work has already been done for you. The stamp sets match with punches and dies. The colours co-ordinate beautifully to and the products themselves are high quality giving professional results.
